This page explains how to get booked in and join my waiting list. Displayed below is an up to date number of how many commissions I have at the moment. When you get booked in you will be added to the end of the list.
Each portrait takes as long as it takes, so I cannot give an estimated turnaround time, however you could expect it to be approximately 1-2 weeks per commission, some take less and some take more. So for example, if I have 10 bookings it could be a 10-20 week wait, please bare this in mind when getting booked in.
If you would like a portrait quicker, I do offer a fastrack option with a fee of 20% of the total portrait price. There are limited spaces and it will depend on the size of the portrait and also when you would need it by. Fastrack portraits I work on in between commissions and working extra time. If you are interested in this option please get in touch and I will be happy to discuss this with you.

To get booked in it is a non-refundable 50% deposit of the total portrait price. Payments can be made via bank transfer, gift voucher or I can email you an invoice using Square where you can pay by card. Once booked in you can get in touch anytime to request where you are in the waiting list.
When I am nearing starting your portrait I will be in touch to let you know. I will usually send you a photo of the pencil outline sketch on the canvas before starting the painting (I don’t tend to do this with charcoal or small portraits). You will receive a photo of the completed portrait for your approval, the remaining 50% balance can then be paid before dispatching the portrait to you.
Before getting booked in it is best to email me with your reference photo for the portrait, and any other photos that you think will be helpful. Also, which portrait type and size you are interested in. Some of you know exactly what you want, and some would like my advice on which photo reference to go with, which size etc. Whatever your preferences, we can discuss all of this through email.
The most important thing is the reference photo of the pet. I work from one photo for the portrait, with my style of painting I cannot combine photos to create the perfect pose. So to have a good artwork, it needs to be a good photo. One where the pet is in a pose you would like to be painted, and also clear enough for me to see good detail to be able to capture the pet well. It is also better for the photo to be taken from the pet’s height (not from above), as this tends to distort the face and features such as the legs once painted.
If you have any questions at all, or if you would like my advice on anything please get in touch, I am more than happy to discuss any details to ensure you get the portrait you are looking for.
Gift vouchers available on the shop, the recipient can use the voucher as their payment when getting booked in.
