By making a purchase from Josie Grimes Artworks, through the online shop, invoicing, bank transfer or any other type of payment you are agreeing to the terms and conditions outlined here.
I strive on excellent customer service and want to make each commission an easy and enjoyable experience. Although most commissions are completed as expected I will always be available to help should any issues arise.
Commissions may be turned down by me, the artist, if I feel it is inappropriate for me to carry out a specific commission, or if I feel I cannot create the expectation of the commission. If you have already purchased a product from the store and I feel I cannot go ahead with your commission, your purchase will be refunded in full. Refunds take 2-7 days to show in your account.
Artworks
All copyright and reproduction rights are reserved by the artist of any artwork, this includes commissions. By commissioning from me you give me the rights to use your photo(s) to produce artwork from. You also give me the right to display this artwork in any form for example, on advertisement, my website and all social media pages. If you wish for me to not put your commissioned artwork on social media and/or my website you must request this before getting booked in, as I may wish to decline your commission. If you are happy for me to publish your artwork online but after a certain date such as a birthday etc, then please request this as I would be more than happy to oblige.
Turnaround
Turnaround time always varies and is constantly updated and displayed on my website. The turnaround time is an estimate and can always change, even during a commission. You are not entitled to a refund if your portrait is completed after your estimated completion time, however I do always do my best to meet deadline dates such as birthdays. Commissions can sometimes be late, or early! As I can never really know how long each artwork is going to take me. If you need an artwork by a certain date I always recommend getting booked in well in advance, the recommended time would be 6 months to a year before the date. I am always available to contact so please do get in touch if you have any questions or concerns. Once the portrait is completed there is a 12 month deadline to finalise payment before the portrait is discarded.
Cancellations
All purchases are non-refundable to book a place in my calendar, this includes purchasing your portrait in full and deposits. If you have paid in full and either wish to cancel your commission, or you do not wish to receive the portrait (whether completed or not), you are not entitled to a partial or full refund. The portrait will be completed and sent to you unless you specifically request me not to send it, it will then be kept in safe storage for 12 months and then discarded. If you have paid a deposit and wish to cancel your commission you are not entitled to any refund. If you have paid a deposit and do not wish to complete your purchase you will not receive your portrait and you are not entitled to any refund, the artwork will be kept in safe storage for 12 months and then discarded. Although every effort is made to meet deadlines they can never be guaranteed, if your portrait is completed after the estimated turnaround time at the time of purchase you are not entitled to any refund. If in the unlikely event that I cannot fulfil your commission, you are entitled to a full refund.
Shipping
Josie Grimes Artworks offers shipping to UK addresses only, including the Isle of Man. You must enter your shipping address at checkout correctly, or if purchasing from me through email you must accurately write your full address. If you have entered or typed an incorrect shipping address and your portrait has been delivered to that address, it is not the responsibility of Josie Grimes Artworks to retrieve that portrait and you are not entitled to a refund. If in the very unlikely event your portrait has been dispatched to a different address to what you have entered you are entitled to receive a full refund, or a new artwork at the same price (if you choose to have a new artwork done for you, you will be booked in at the earliest possible time after my ongoing bookings). Parcels are always sent with either Royal Mail or Parcelforce depending on the size of the parcel. Artworks are always sent extremely well packaged and fully insured against the total cost of the portrait(s). Although every effort is made to deliver your parcel on or around the date stated by the courier, it is not the responsibility of Josie Grimes Artworks if your parcel is not delivered on time. If in the unlikely event that your parcel is lost, a claim will be made for compensation against the total cost of your order. Refunds will only be issued after a claim has been accepted with the courier, as they may wish for you to fill in a form to declare you have not received your parcel – this could take a few weeks for the claim to go through. As soon as the compensation amount has been received you will be issued with a full refund. Refunds take 2-7 days to show in your account once issued. You will be contacted with any updates on this process should it be necessary.
Return agreement
All artworks are non-refundable and non-returnable as they are custom made. If in the unlikely event your artwork arrives damaged you must take photographs of the damages and send them to me within 3 days of receiving the parcel. I will then start the process of claiming compensation from Royal Mail/Parcelforce using your photos. Refunds will only be issued after a claim has been accepted with the courier, as they may wish for you to fill in a form to declare the artwork arrived to you damaged – this could take a few weeks for the claim to go through. As soon as the compensation amount has been received you will be issued with a full refund. Refunds take 2-7 days to show in your account once issued. You will be contacted with any updates on this process should it be necessary. If only the mount has been damaged in transit and not the artwork itself, I would recommend either remounting it, or sending your portrait back to me for me to remount – return postage will be reimbursed once I have received the parcel, and the costs of the new artwork mount and the postage of sending it back to you will be covered by me.
Gift Vouchers
Gift vouchers are dispatched within 3 working days of purchase. Gift vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash, and they have an expiry of 1 year. Each gift voucher is worth the amount stated in GBP, this amount can go against any product offered at Josie Grimes Artworks at the time of redeeming except for gift vouchers. Prices of portraits can change at any time, so it is recommended that you claim your gift voucher as soon as possible after receiving it, as prices may increase after the gift voucher has been purchased.
Prices
Prices can change at any point and they tend to rise on average once a year, this mimics the increase of quality materials used, an increase on material costs and the advance in professional skill.
